Sturgeon Falls—Sturgeon River

Sturgeon River Falls
Wayne Premo
Sturgeon River Falls

This is a nice waterfall in Houghton County with a lot of water and the red canyon is beautiful. It is worth the gravel road and the hike.
Unless this waterfall is better marked now, it is not easy to locate. The walk is not difficult.

On M-28, go .4 mile east of Sidnaw to 2200 Forest which becomes USFS-191 and then becomes Sturgeon Gorge Road going north; go north for 12.5 miles.

There is parking on the west side; park and walk down the two track road to the canyon, then left to the falls.

Ability to Locate: Fairly Difficult
Access by Hiking: Fairly Easy
Beauty of Falls: Outstanding
