Fox River Campground
(906) 452-6222 Not reservable.
This seven-site rustic state forest campground (vault toilets, hand pump) is also on the Fox, near good fishing on a blue-ribbon trout stream. Tall jack pines tower over the sites, with no understory. Room for a small trailer. Steps go down to the river, which is canoeable here.
SENEY TOWNSHIP CAMPGROUND
(906) 499-3332. Not reservable.
25 shady rustic sites ($5/night), improved by the township, are served by electricity and pit toilets. No showers. The semi-circle of campsites is in a mostly shaded, grassy area, with the Fox River making a big curve in back. Lots of river frontage and room for canoes. "A hidden gem," say some campers.
M-28. Handicap access: call.
