Rockland Museum

The social history of everyday life in Rockland is effectively conveyed through roomscapes that manage to be much more interesting than those in most local museums. Visitors enjoy the stories volunteers tell about Rockland, and they like looking through the binders of old photographs.
Don't miss the outdoor displays: the jail cell, the little red barn with mining and farming paraphernalia, and the impressive section of wood pipeline from the Victoria Dam, 10' in diameter. Engineers decided to run the 6,000-foot pipeline between the dam and powerhouse above ground. It was a for all who saw it. When a steel pipe recently replaced the leaking wood pipe, UPPCO approached the museum about exhibiting the pipe.
