Raber and Lime Island Restaurants
Raber Bay Bar & Restaurant
(906) 297-5701
Hungry diners from all around come to this rather remote spot on the St. Mary's River overlooking Lime Island and St. Joseph Island. The vintage bar dates from Prohibition's repeal in 1933. Now it's greatly expanded, with good views of passing freighters. The big attractions are delicious fish dinners with a homemade soup/salad/dessert bar—fresh local whitefish plus walleye and perch, $14-$16. Fish baskets are $10 and up. There's also a full menu from burgers to steaks; nightly specials in summer; and a daily $22 all-you-can-eat mix-and-match where you can choose combinations of fish along with BBQ ribs. Every Sunday, crowds come for chef's choice.
