Central Park

This popular new park shows what can be done with an abandoned stone quarry and some grant money. The quarry itself has become a lake with swimming beach. There's a picnic area, playground, tennis courts, and more. Summer concerts take place at the bandshell at 7 p.m. in July and August. Some of the U.P.'s leading musicians play folk, gospel, bluegrass, and more.

Maple St./M-94 parallels Cedar St. a block to the right. Take it north a few blocks. Park is just past the Little Bear West ice arena.
