Gwinn Campgrounds

Farquar-Metsa Tourist Park
(906) 346-9217
This 20-site RV park ($20) is in town, in a pretty spot on the Escanaba River's East Branch, just up from a waterfall and swimming hole. It gets good marks for quiet—the police chief lives across the street. The park is big enough to handle 50' RVs with full hookups and 20-30 amp electric. Tents might be overwhelmed by RVs. An area for rustic campsites may eventually be built. The bathhouse has hot showers; there's a dump station. A picnic area and basketball court are on-site. The river here, flanked by a bike trail, can be fished and canoed all the way to Boney Falls. Local canoe livery provides spotting service. Rodney's Pizza, downtown Gwinn a short walk away. Gwinn is about half an hour from Marquette and Negaunee, and not too far from Munising-area attractions, either. There aren't too many campgrounds around Marquette. This one has a good central location.

150 W. Iron St. Take Jasper northeast from M-35/Pine Street.
