MILL TOWN INN
(906) 246-3999; milltowninn.com
Above the restaurant are 2 surprisingly large, comfortably luxurious, air-conditioned, and smoke-free B&B guest rooms ($75/night for 2 including breakfast). They are charmingly decorated in plaids and outdoors themes. Each has a sitting area with gas fireplace, a fridge, and an in-room 2-person whirlpool plus shower. Now there's satellite TV, but there are still romantic videos to watch. Guest rooms and the front porch offer good views. For larger groups, the stone Bunk House next door has 8 twin beds, kitchen, and Direct TV. The inn is on a main snowmobile trail, but most guests are quiet older people here to relax. There's nearby fishing on the beautiful Sturgeon River, bicycling along G-69, and bird-watching and hiking at Gene's Pond.

On M-69 in the heart of Foster City. From G-69 and the south, turn left. Handicap-accessible: no. Family friendy: no extra charge, rates are by the room. Rollaway and sofa-sleeper available.
