Estivant Pines

The largest old White Pine forest in Michigan has hundreds of the centuries-old trees on over 500 acres. There are two trail loops totaling 2.5 miles. While the big pines are the big draw here, they are mixed in with lots of other big tress: maple, birch, balsam fir, hemlock, spruce. Lots of different birds live here, and lots of different ferns, too. There are also 4000-year-old mine pits where aboriginals found deposits of pure copper that was traded throughout the continent. 
From Copper Harbor take US-41 north and turn right on 2nd Street at the Community Center. In 1.2 miles, turn right on Burma Road and follow signs.
