Dancing Crane Coffeehouse

Dancing Crane interior
Cathy and Jim LeBlanc have created a terrific cozy coffeehouse where regular flock and visitors can get fresh roasted coffee and a friendly reception.

This popular gathering spot is a cozy, friendly, colorful place in an owner-made log building. The aroma of roasting coffee adds to the ambience. With comfortable places to sit, books, magazines, and board games, it's a place where "camp refugees" and others can spend a pleasant rainy morning or afternoon. A music corner with guitar appeals to teens. Muffins, cinnamon rolls, and bagels can be heated on the microwave. Summer brings ice cream cones. A grill outside cooks up brats, burgers, and veggie burgers year-round. Locally made items include jewelry, dreamcatchers, lotions and oils, and traditional sage and sweetgrass. After Jim LeBlanc retired as a family therapist with the Bay Mills Ojibwa tribe, he and his wife opened the Dancing Crane in 2007 at the site of their home since 1975. They named it after his family clan. They wanted a place where all would feel welcome. The organic, fair-trade beans

Dancing Crane
Jim LeBlanc built this funky log coffeehouse himself in 2007.

Jim roasts nearly every morning come from Honduras, Ethiopia, Peru, and Sumatra. Coffees can be sampled. Hot and cold drinks come in regular and low-carb, sugar-free versions. People who want a quick cup can use the drive-thru. No credit cards.
