ALPINE TRAILER PARK CAMPGROUND
(906) 667-0737
This 48-site private campground on U.S. 2 has an unusually scenic location for being on a highway. It's a good location if you plan to visit several places in the area. Attentive hosts offer mini-golf and fishing in a little pond. There's a playground, hot showers, laundromat, and dump station. Cable TV hookups. 20 and 30 amp service. All are pull-through sites, all with water, many with sewer hookup. Some handle very big rigs. Some sites are wooded. 16 tent sites ($17.50 for 2) are at the back overlooking the Black River. Full hookup sites average $30/night for two. $1/extra person.

E8072 U.S. Hwy. 2. On the north side of U.S. 2, two miles west of Wakefield and 2 miles east of Bessemer. Open year-round. Water is turned off in winter, available at the service building and dump station. Handicap access: works for many. Problems with wheelchairs. Call.
