| Here the North Country Trail crosses the Baltimore River near O-Kun-De-Kun Falls, 8 miles north of Bruce Crossing. The trail begins in New York, enters the U.P. at the Mackinaw Bridge, skirts Lake Superior before dipping into Wisconsin. |
Casual hikers enjoy making a 1 1/2-mile round trip on this short and especially scenic part of the long, multi-state hiking trail. From the parking area it's a quarter-mile hike to the swinging bridge, and another half mile to Tahquamenon Bay. For more on the North Country Trail in the U.P., search for its web site, then click on "hike the trail" and on the Upper Peninsula.![]()
